Rajkot: The body of a 35-year-old labourer was found from the bank of Machhu River in Wankaner of Morbi district on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hasmukh Mandaviya, a resident of Navapara locality in Wankaner.
“Mandaviya’s identity was ascertained by his younger brother Nitin with the help of clothes the deceased had worn. Mandaviya’s face was badly smashed with stones,” said H N Rathod, inspector with Wankaner city police station.
“We are investigating whether the deceased had any enmity with anyone or had an extra-marital relationship which might have become the reason for the crime,” added Rathod.
