State Bank of India to keep Mumbai headquarters closed for a day to sanitise building

MUMBAI: State Bank of India will keep its headquarters in Mumbai closed for a day to sanitise the building after two employees test positive for Covid-19 virus two people familiar with the matter said.

In an internal memo, SBI asked its staff at the headquarters not to attend office on May 5 as it was undertaking a deep cleaning and sanitisation of its premises.

“Both employees who tested positive have not been attending office for sometime so the worry of transmission is scarce, but we are taking all possible precaution and figuring out who interacted with these employees,” an official aware of the matter said.

SBI had reduced office hours by an hour and all employees are supposed to exit the office by 5 pm. The lender is also sanitising it’s office daily to ensure minimum risk of coronavirus transmission.
