After the permission of the Central Government, the Ministry of Railways has run special trains for the migrant laborers, students, and tourists stranded in different parts of the country during the lockdown. Through these trains, these people will be able to go to their homes only during the lockdown period.
However, during this time people will have to take special precautions to avoid infection with the coronavirus. These trains will be operated according to the demand of the state administration from the zonal railways.
As per the guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Railways, it will be mandatory for all passengers to wear face covers/face masks while traveling by train, while in the trains traveling more than 12 hours, one meal will be served by the Railways. Food packets and drinking water will be arranged from the state governments.
On arrival at their destination, the passengers will be screened by the state government and if necessary, the passengers can be kept in quarantine.
