Share market update: PSU bank shares down; Canara Bank slips 7%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with losses in Monday's session.

Shares of Indian Bank (down 9.44 per cent), Canara Bank (down 7.22 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 6.66 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 6.61 per cent), State Bank of India (down 6.09 per cent), UCO Bank (down 4.69 per cent), Bank of India (down 4.26 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 4.22 per cent), Central Bank of India (down 4.15 per cent), J & K Bank (down 3.68 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (down 3.66 per cent), Punjab & Sind Bank (down 3.31 per cent) and Indian Overseas Bank (down 3.25 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 6.0 per cent down at 1246.55 around 03:10PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 566.05 points at 9293.85 , while the BSE Sensex was down 1988.94 points at 31728.68 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Tata Motors, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Vedanta and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
