Coronavirus India: The total number of coronavirus cases in India has surged to 42,836 and 1,389 people have died from this disease so far, according to data compiled by Worldometer. At least 2,573 new Covid-19 cases and 83 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Country's recovery rate has further moved to 27.52 per cent, and 1,074 patients were cured in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of cured patient in a day. India has become the 15th most affected among the 187 nations with coronavirus cases

Union Health Ministry on Monday said that the government has not talked about charging anything from migrant labourers as 85 per cent of the transportation cost is borne by the railways and 15 per cent by state governments.
The government has extended the nationwide lockdown in force since March 24 by another two weeks, till May 17.
Globally, 3,585,711 people have been infected by the novel coronavirus so far, and the total number of deaths from the disease stands at 248,780.
