London’s second Nobu hotel will not now open in July as originally planned.
As reported by Business Traveller last year, the lifestyle brand is taking over the existing Radisson Blu property on Portman Square.
The hotel closed in April 2019 for a complete refurbishment project, which will see it reopen as the Nobu Hotel London Portman Square.
In February the hotel confirmed it had opened room reservations for July this year, but it is understood the subsequent coronavirus crisis has caused delays in the completion of building works.
The property’s website is currently accepting reservations from November, although an exact revised opening date has yet to be confirmed by Nobu.
Features of the hotel will include 249 rooms (down from 272 as the Radisson Blu), as well as a 600-capacity ballroom, gym, “wellness facilities”, a bar and outdoor terrace.
The opening will also see the group’s existing Nobu Berkeley Street restaurant close after 15 years of operation, and move into the Portman Square property.
Nobu’s existing London property in Shoreditch is currently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is not the only forthcoming London property to delay its opening – this week Business Traveller reported that The Londoner on Leicester Square has also pushed back its opening from June to late 2020.
