KAITHAL: Panic gripped
Kaithal on Saturday after some miscreants threw some currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500 and fled from the spot.
The currency notes were thrown around 11am on Saturday in Karn Vihar, a slum area located near Jind by pass road.
After the locals approached the police, city station house officer (SHO) Nanhi Devi and health department teams reached the spot.
Meanwhile, the locals had also put bricks on top of the notes, that is estimated to add up to Rs 15,000.
SHO Devi said, “We collected the notes after sanitising them. We have registered the incident in daily diary report (DDR) and matter is being investigated. The currency notes were found lying in an empty ground near the colony.”
“People didn’t pick any of the notes for fear of Covid-19 and informed the police. However, no one saw anyone throwing the notes in the area,” she added.
