UP to implement Centre’s guidelines on lockdown-3

LUCKNOW: UP is set to follow Centre’s guidelines for relaxation when the third phase of lockdown starts on May 4. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to start “all economic activities” in accordance with Central guidelines.
Although a detailed plan will be issued to all district magistrates on Sunday, going by the Central guidelines, one can expect that OPD services in hospitals would get operational, stand alone shops would open and private offices with 33% attendance would be allowed to operate in Lucknow which falls in the red zone.
Besides, private vehicles would be allowed with three passengers, including driver, but operation of radio taxis will remain prohibited.
Mobile repair shops to be open in rural areas
On Saturday, the CM said that if sugar mills and brick kilns could function throughout the lockdown period and no cases of infection were reported from there, other industries could also follow suit. “The CM has also directed officials to explore new opportunities even during the lockdown, while taking all preventive measures,” said an official.
Mobile repair shops, those selling construction material like bricks, cement, sand, hardware have been allowed to open in rural areas and small towns.
Chief secretary RK Tiwari has issued directions to district administration and police to issue necessary permissions, while ensuring that all safety protocols like social distancing etc are maintained.
The CM has also issued directions to deploy PRD jawans to prevent mass gatherings in mandis and maintain social distancing. To prevent spread of infection, he added everyone coming to mandi should be scanned before entry.
“He has also said that construction work under PM Awas Yojana and CM Awas Yojana should be started as it will help provide work to labourers under MNREGA. The CM also said that women self-help groups should be encouraged to start production of masks, pickles, snacks etc.
