PATIALA: Due to an ongoing property dispute with their neighbour, a former assistant sub-inspector of Punjab police and his son were shot dead near Sarai Patti Chowk in Samana subdivision of
Patiala district on Sunday.
55-year-old Brahm Prakash and his 18-year-old son Sunny were fired upon by one Peter with whom the father-son duo had a property dispute.
According to superintendent of police HS Hundal during the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that Brahm Prakash and Sunny had a property dispute with Peter and on Saturday afternoon they bump into each other at Sarai Patti Chowk. He said, Peter reportedly took out his revolver after an initial verbal spat and fired at the father-son duo. The injured were rushed to the Samana Civil Hospital, where they were declared brought dead by the doctors.
The SP said that they have registered a case under Section 302 of IPC against the accused, who has been absconding after committing the crime. He said that the police have been able to secure the CCTV footage from a nearby shop in which the incident is recorded.
