NAGPUR: Pachpaoli police station, located within the containment zone of north Nagpur, was sanitised with the help of a private enterprise to ensure safety of the personnel who are fighting against the Covid-19 spread.
On the first day of the third phase of the lockdown 3.0, city police took a fresh start to fight the predicament and strictly enforce the norms.
Viewing the struggle of the cops and their susceptibility to the coronavirus due to constant exposure to masses on the roads, entrepreneur Ajay Uttarwar sponsored a round of disinfectant spray at Pachpaoli police station which is located in front of an institutional quarantine facility. Around 17 persons were found corona positive from this quarantine centre. Most of the occupants of this centre are from the city's corona hotspot Satranjipura where substantial numbers of patients were found positive in the past.
Uttarwar, who engaged in voluntary service, has continued his efforts despite some reverses in his business, said he wants to provide selfless help to the Covid warriors as a mark of respect to them. "I am sanitising several food distribution centers in the city apart from other places like police stations," said Uttarwar.
The sprayer disinfected the sticks of the cops, their seats, cupboards, almirahs, vehicles, cabins and chambers.
The lockup of the Pachpaoli police station, the computer room, station house, wireless sets and also the detection branch wing were disinfected.
The Senior police inspector Kishor Nagrale's chamber was also sprayed with the disinfectant.
Later, the disinfectant sprayer also sanitised the barricades and shades at the entry point of the containment zone at Kamal Chowk where the cops had also erected a corona effigy to create awareness among the public.
