The Ashok Gehlot government of the state has increased the additional excise duty to fill the government coffers. CM Ashok Gehlot also issued 2 orders regarding this. Both these orders are about to make alcohol expensive.


10 and 15 percent increase

According to the order issued by the Finance Department, the additional excise duty has been increased on foreign liquor made in India. It has been increased from 20 percent to 35 percent now. At the same time, the additional excise duty applicable to beer rates has been increased from 35 percent to 45 percent.

In the second-order, it has increased the bottling fee of Rs 20 on domestic liquor. There has been an increase in bottling fees of Rs 50 on liquor manufactured in Rajasthan.

Corona, a major decision to put the economy back on track, has weakened the country's economy and the government's income fell by 70% in April. Because of this, now the governments have done the exercise of filling the government treasury. In this till April 27, the government has got only 130 crore rupees, whereas last year the amount of SGST was 1000 crores.

There has also been an increase in VAT on petrol and diesel. The Gehlot government has increased VAT on petrol and diesel twice in March and April. But still, the government has got only 600 crores from this. In all, the government has so far received Rs 1500 crore in April.
