Patiala: Man booked for killing friend

PATIALA: The Sadar Nabha police have booked a man for allegedly killing his 25-year-old friend at his house in a village under Nabha sub-division in Patiala district. The police said that the deceased and the accused were close friends and were residents of the same village.
The deceased has been identified as Jaffardin Khan, 25, of Sadhohedi village while the accused has been identified as Tejinder Singh, 26, of the same village. The case has been registered under sections of Indian Penal Code including murder, curfew-violation, and house-trespass after making preparation for assault and under sections of Arms Act on the complaint of Jasmel Khan who is the father of the deceased.
The complainant told police that Jaffardin’s mother on Friday had gone out with her two daughters to feed their buffaloes but on return she witnessed that accused Tejinder and his son Jaffardin were fighting. The complainant added that before she could intervene and stop, the accused opened fire killing Jaffardin on the spot.
Station house officer Sadar Nabha police station said, “The motive behind the killing will be clear after the accused Tejinder Singh is arrested. Both Tejinder and Jaffardin were good friends. It is being investigated whether the weapon used in the crime was licensed or illegal. The case is registered under various sections of IPC and Arms Act against the accused. The dead body has been handed over to the family members after conducting post mortem.”
