KOCHI: Three special trains carrying guest workers from Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam will operate to Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha on Saturday. Two trains will depart from Ernakulam while the third will leave from Thiruvananthapuram.
The train carrying guest workers from Thiruvananthapuram will leave to Hatia in Jharkhand around 2pm. While train to Bihar will operate either from Ernakulam Town station or Ernakulam junction around 3pm. Railway officials have been waiting for permission from Southern Railway in Chennai.
Train to Odisha will operate from Aluva at around 6pm.
A special train to Odisha left Aluva on Friday night carrying 1,140 passengers.
Guest workers registered with district administration are allowed to travel in special trains.
Registration for today's journey is under way in Ernakulam.
