These sweet, button-eyed knitted teddies might resemble pandas, koalas, brown bears and an unidentified pink variety of bear, but they all speak with Canadian accents in this China-New Zealand-Canada production. United in their love for, and endless pursuit of, books in an ever-changing kinder craft landscape, these toddler friends learn about collaborative imaginative play along the way. One bear’s dinosaur is another’s pirate ship and that’s OK.

There’s no point judging Fiona O’Loughin for her failings – she does that for a living – but it is hard to hear her daughter recall her worst (and very public) experience of the stand-up queen’s intoxication. Such is the extent to which O’Loughin allows her life to be laid bare in this searing documentary of her return to work after rehab in 2016. Peers chip in, including Denise Scott, Wil Anderson and O’Loughlin’s sister, Emily Taheny.

It will be interesting to see how social distancing is observed on Tom Gleisner’s panel that usually squishes its resident comics, Sam Pang and Ed Kavalee (aka Twinkletoes after his Dancing with the Stars turn) in cosily with the rotating guests on its colourful set. Their kind of dry, enjoyably silly wit is very needed in these strange and uncertain times, as is that of the reliably funny first line-up: Kitty Flanagan, Urzila Carlson and Marty Sheargold.
