The entire hospital will not be sealed if the health worker is infected. The government has taken this decision after a medical crisis arose in several metropolitan cities of the country. Karnataka, Delhi, and Maharashtra have also issued guidelines. The rest of the states will also make such an announcement soon. In many states, entire hospitals were being sealed after the health workers got infected. Patients were being shifted to other hospitals several km away. Guidelines were given on receipt of complaints.

The Association of Healthcare Providers India also appealed to the Central and State Governments not to seal the entire hospital for sanitization. Maharashtra and Karnataka and Delhi government have also issued orders on this. The Director-General of the Association, Dr. Girdhar Giani, states that health workers, hospitals, or other medical facilities are limited.

In such a situation, 40-50 doctors, nurses, paramedical staff are being quarantined for 14-14 days after sealing hospitals, one or two health workers are infected in many cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai. Whereas it should be that after checking them in 24 hours, positive or negative should be separated. Also, the premises should be sanitized in such a way that the OPD or admitted patients of the hospital are not affected by it.

Problem due to fear

The main reason for the sealing of hospitals is to fulfill the responsibility of the local administration. The district officer does not want any lapse due to the pressure on Corona. Therefore, due to insufficient information, he is sealing the hospital.

Closure of hospitals is not appropriate

Former Presidential Physician Dr. Mohsin Wali explains that it is not appropriate to close hospitals due to Corona's fear. At this time, the country needs hospitals the most. It is true that the number of empty beds in hospitals has increased since the lockdown, but they have to be kept ready to fight the epidemic.

Saifai patients sent from Agra

Task Force member Dr. Girdhar Giani informed that patients of Agra Medical College are being sent to Saifai, 116 km away. He had never heard of patients being sent to a hospital in a city 100 kilometers away. He also informed the Health Ministry about this.

... so stopped recruiting patients

A senior health ministry official said seven hospitals in Maharashtra were sealed, four in Bihar, six in Karnataka, five in Gujarat, 10 in Delhi, five in Tamil Nadu, two in Andhra Pradesh. Due to fear, private hospitals stopped recruiting patients or started insisting on Kovid investigations. That is why the government has issued strict guidelines, asking hospitals to insist on treating patients without unnecessary investigation.
