CMV Vasco da Gama arrives in London

On March 18, the Vasco da Gama sailed from Phuket, Thailand to Australia to repatriate passengers. It has now returned to the U.K. after the completion of the rescue operation. Among the passengers Vasco da Gama rescued, 798 Australians and 108 New Zealand Nationals, all of whom were set to return to Fremantle, Australia. Later it sailed 6,098 nautical miles back to the United Kingdom.

 

 

So far, no positive COVID-19 cases have been found among passengers or crew on board Vasco da Gama or any other ship within the CMV fleet. This also marks the CMV ship to return to homeport. The ship had 552 crew members on board, including 8 British Nationals. The voyage included a technical call for fuel Cape Town, South Africa on April 13 before sailing to the London Cruise Terminal at Tilbury when she was due to arrive on Friday.
