Javed Akhtar, Raveena Tandon express displeasure over reopening of liquor and tobacco shops in green zones amid lockdown

Bollywood celebrities like Javed Akhtar and Raveena Tandon have reacted strongly to the news of reopening liquor and tobacco shops in green zones amid coronavirus outbreak. The MHA on May 1 announced the extension of lockdown by two more weeks while permitting the sales. While the actress is worried about the menace of spitting on street and public places, lyricist Javed Akhtar is tensed about the ‘disastrous results’ that the reopening may bring about. Shedding light on the reported rise of domestic violence cases amid the lockdown, Javed expressed his concerns for the safety of women and children, now that liquor sale is allowed.
