Tsoiafatt-Angus named Tobago Festivals chairman

Dr Denise Tsoiafatt Angus has been appointed chairman of the Tobago Festivals Commission.
Tsoiafatt-Angus previously served as presiding officer of the Tobago House of Assembly but resigned last year to unsuccessfully contest the leadership position in the PNM Tobago Council internal elections. She later aligned with Tracy Davidson-Celestine, who defeated Kelvin Charles to become the first female leader of the PNM Tobago Council.
In a press release on Friday, the Division of Tourism, Culture and Transportation confirmed the appointment, noting Secretary Nadine Stewart-Phillips installed a new board for the commission and instruments of appointments were presented via a virtual meeting on Friday morning.
The newly appointed board, led by Tsoiafatt-Angus, includes deputy chairman Penelope Williams, Anthony Arnold Jr, Shane Andrews, Cindy Lou Edwards, Derry Trotman and Kieron McDougall. Louis Lewis and Cheryl Duncan are ex-officio members.
