Disturbing footage 'shows axe-wielding children under TEN terrorising local shop owners and residents during frightening rampage' in one of Australia's richest beachside suburbs
- Four youngsters terrorised an exclusive Western Australian town on Thursday
- The gang wielded an axe and one even smashed a car window, police said
- A witness alleged that one of the youngsters even tried to bash a policeman
- Two of the group are under ten years-old, and therefore too young to be charged
Startling footage has emerged showing a group of young children 'wielding an axe' and terrorising locals in one of Australia's most exclusive suburbs.
The boys, two of whom are younger than ten years-old, could be seen running riot during the crime spree in the affluent Perth suburb of Cottesloe.
Shocked residents called people, and can be heard shouting 'drop the f***ing axe' at one of the youths.
'You're under arrest for criminal damage, alright?' an officer can be heard saying in the video.
'You understand? Get on the ground.'

Four boys were allegedly near Cottesloe's Il Lido Italian Canteen in Perth's western suburbs at about 9.30am on Thursday and spotted smashing the windows of parked cars with an axe
The four kids, two of whom were under ten, are alleged to have gone door-to-door along Forrest Street around 9am on Thursday morning.
Police alleged the youngsters threw rocks at residents, and smashed a car window with an axe.
The two aged under ten are too young to be charged with a crime, but one witness alleged they even tried to attack one of the police officers.
A picture of their arrest shows an axe lying on the ground as the young boy is cuffed next to a police van.
'One of them, who had broken the car window with the axe, tried to assault the police officer with the axe,' a witness claimed.
'The policeman just said to me 'bloody juveniles - they've just tried to axe my partner'.

The schoolboy is seen running around an apartment block terrorising locals (pictured) and was arrested
'The policemen were really shaking, they were obviously just on the chase up the street. It was quite scary.
'They grabbed them and searched them… took the axe from them and put them in the van.'
'It was reported (by witnesses) that when the youths were confronted by a resident, an item was thrown at him,' a WA Police spokesperson said.
'Responding officers located the youths and were in the process of placing two in custody when the other two damaged the front panel of a parked vehicle with an axe.'

When an officer caught two of the boys and told them they were being arrested, one of them allegedly attacked him with the axe (pictured, Il Lido Italian Canteen)
