BENGALURU: A 40-year-old autorickshaw driver is battling for life after he was stabbed in a clash that erupted during distribution of free miilk in Seshadripuram on Wednesday. This is the second street fight over free milk in the city in two days.
Trouble began when Vinod Kumar accused Nagaraj, who is in charge of BBMP’s milk distribution programme, of favouring persons known to him. Both are residents of VV Giri Colony.
They fought with each other on Tuesday night. “The fight resumed on Wednesday morning when A Lalitha, Kumar’s niece, questioned Nagaraj over the same issue. By then, supporters of Kumar and Nagaraj gathered. In no time, the groups clashed. In the melee, Nagaraj’s supporters stabbed Kumar in the stomach,” police said. Ten suspects, including two women, have been arrested for stabbing Kumar.
