Following the order of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), allowing interstate movement of special trains for the benefit of the stranded people, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said on Friday that he will request Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to set up a medical testing facility to test Goans, who will come into the state by trains.

Speaking to this daily, Rane said that though Goa has been declared a green zone for COVID-19 by the central government, wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing must be followed by everyone in the state.

The minister said the state government will move forward as per the fresh guidelines, which will be issued by the MHA on the extension of the lockdown.

“As regards to Goans, who will come to Goa by special trains or by road, it will be mandatory for them to go through medical tests. We do not want to take any risk as far as coronavirus is concerned. So, I will write to the Chief Minister to have medical testing facility for people who will come from other states,” he said.
