Nitish Kumar on Friday held six-hour long marathon review meeting with departmental heads and field officers including divisional commissioners, inspectors general of police, DIGs, DMs and SPs, through video conferencing, in the wake of return of large number of
migrant workers, students and others from different states.
He asked the officials, especially DMs and SPs, to make all necessary arrangements at the block and Panchayat level
quarantine centres in view of possibility of return of large scaled migrant workers from other states.
He also stressed the need of making arrangement of sufficient number of buses for transporting migrant workers from railway station to respective district headquarters and from the district town to the block and panchayat level quarantine centres.
“There should be adequate arrangement of food, lodging and medical facilities at all block level quarantine centres. Please also make arrangement of sufficient number of bathrooms and toilets at such centres,” CM told the officers.
Nitish further asked the health department officials to increase the number testing centre for Covid-19 in the state. “Health department should try to make arrangement of covid-19 testing at district level in the waked of possibility of return of large scale migrant workers,” he said.
He further directed the district officials to conduct a skill survey of all returnee migrant workers so that they could be provided employment opportunities in accordance to their skill.
CM said the departments engaged in providing employment to workers in rural areas, should speed up their works so that maximum number of returnee migrant workers could be provided job opportunities in their respective
Gram-panchayat.
