PANCHKULA: The police on Wednesday night booked a Sector 3, Panchkula, resident for illegal liquor sale. On a tipoff, a checkpoint was set up at Majri Chowk.
On seeing the cops, a two-wheeler driver tried to escape. But he was intercepted. The driver identified himself as Mustafa, a resident of Devi Nagar, Sector 3. During checking, police found 34 liquor bottles in a sack he was carrying with him.
“The accused used to sell liquor on his scooter in different areas. He has been booked under sections 188, 269 and 270 of the IPC at Sector 5 police station,” said a cop.
