HYDERABAD: A fire broke out at a cooler manufacturing unit in Telangana capital Hyderabad on Friday morning at Ghatkesar area. The station fire officer sustained injuries while fighting the fire.
According to fire officials, the control room received a call at 11.40am on Friday, after a fire broke out at PBC cooler manufacturing company located at Kondapur village of Ghatkesar Mandal.
As many as four fire tenders were put in place, while it took nearly three hours to completely douse the fire. "The cooler manufacturing unit covers around two acres of land in a shed, where we mould and assemble the parts. I slipped while extinguishing the fire and fell. Due to this, I sustained burn injury on my right hand and leg," said station fire officer Cherlapally, Shekhar Reddy.
The officer was rushed to the hospital. The fire officials suspect a short circuit must have triggered the fire which immediately spread to the unit. All the material were gutted. "However, there were no casualties," added the officer.
