Stores in Mohali district to open on rotational basis

Mohali DC said that in markets alternate shops would open on every alternate day.
MOHALI: Mohali deputy commissioner (DC) Girish Dayalan has allowed opening of shops in the district on staggered rotational basis from 7am to 11am. He said the shops would open on odd-even basis. While explaining the concept, the DC said in markets alternate shops would open on every alternate day. Elaborating, he said, “For example, the shop with even number will open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday whereas those with odd numbers will open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This means only 50% of the total shops will open on a single day. However, Sunday will be a complete holiday.”
The DC, however, stated that all shops in rural areas shall remain open between 7-11am, adhering to protocol by maintaining personal distancing, wearing masks and only single person from each family would be allowed.
Dayalan said only daily needs shops would be open and those dealing in services like saloons, barber shops etc would continue to remain closed.
It is also clarified that restaurants shall not be allowed to open and shall remain closed except for home delivery with specific prior permission of the undersigned.
