Aurangabad's sees 8th Covid-19 death

AURANGABAD: A 47-year-old man positive for novel coronavirus died while undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) at 6.20am on Friday.
The man was a driver by profession and a resident of Dutt Nagar in Garkheda. Arvind Gaikwad, nodal officer for media interaction at GMCH said that the patient was suffering with fever, dry cough for the last seven days and with difficulty in breathing for last four days. "As he had Covid-19 symptoms, he was admitted to the suspected Covid-19 ward. After his throat swab tested positive for the virus, he was moved to Covid-19 positive ward where was on artificial oxygen," Gaikwad said.
GMCH dean Kanan Yelikar stated that the cause of his death is pulmonary embolism secondary to Covid-19 associated coagulopathy with bilateral pneumonia with respiratory distress syndrome.
