McDonald's worker unwittingly served burglar who had just raided his home before walking into the restaurant wearing his Swatch watch and Adidas cap

A McDonald's worker unwittingly served a burglar who had just raided his home before walking into the restaurant wearing his sports cap and watch.
Ross Renforth, 20, broke into Jake White's home in Alnwick, Northumberland and stole an Adidas cap with a white peak and Swatch watch.
The burglar then walked into a McDonald's restaurant wearing the stolen goods, where he was served by his unsuspecting victim - Mr White.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that Mr White recognised the cap - which had a white peak - and black watch but assumed it was just a coincidence.
It was after he returned home that Mr White realised his property had been broke into and his belongings had been stolen. The court heard how police found Renforth's fingerprints on a bottle of rum inside the flat.
Neil Jones QC, prosecuting, argued: 'While he was working at McDonald's he had unwittingly served the defendant, who came into McDonald's as a customer.

'Mr White had noticed the person he was serving was wearing an Adidas cap with a white peak. He thought it was strange and thought, "I've got one like that".
'A black Swatch was found on the floor on the customer side of the counter, where Mr White had been working. When it was found he said, "I've got a watch like that".
'The reason he was finding it was the defendant had forced entry into the flat.'

Renforth of no fixed address admitted burglary. He has been jailed for 12 months.
Judge Robert Spragg told Renforth: 'You went to McDonald's and Jake White was working there and he recognised the cap and recognised the watch.'
Kate Barnes QC, defending, said Renforth had been taking drink and drugs. She told the court that he 'has very little recollection of it'.
Renforth has previous convictions, but none for burglary.
