A strong sense of personal loss engulfed everyone as the news of Bollywood’s original chocolate boy, Rishi Kapoor’s demise broke out on April 30. The sudden realization that he will never again make us laugh with him or cry hit millions hard, including dear friend Amitabh Bachchan, who expressed his anguish with the words ‘I am destroyed’. As difficult as we imagine it would’ve been to emote in words, Big B took to social media to pay a poignant tribute to his ‘Rishi Da’. The magnitude of the loss he feels at the moment is rightly captured through the words he wrote, some of which reads as follows – ‘Joie de vivre .. the exuberant enjoyment of life , was a gene he inherited from his father .. the Legend, the Ultimate Showman the Iconic Raj Kapoor .. I never visited him in Hospital .. I never wanted to see distress on his smiling cherubic face .. But I am certain .. when he went, he must have gone with a gentle smile …’
