Continuing to contribute to the country's high-tech educational institutions in the fight against Coronavirus infection. IIT Guwahati has also prepared special makeshift corona isolation wards for corona centers in addition to making special cane furniture. The temporary hospitals can be prepared by erecting these wards wherever necessary.

The team of the design department of IIT has made this preparation keeping in mind the situation of getting more people hospitalized when the impact of infection increases. He claims that through them, a temporary hospital can be built very quickly in small health centers and indoor stadiums at a very low cost. It will also be very easy to destroy them after the effects of infection are over. According to Professor Ravi Mokashi Punekar of the design department, 'Using his team's design, new beds can be designed for more than 200 patients daily. Cane craft is an important economic base in northeast India. Though the use of this craft in community facilities like rural health centers was very limited until now, this project (IIT team's project) has revealed its immense potential.
