The Union Home Ministry said that the decision was taken after an extensive review of the situation on COVID-19. News agency ANI quoted the Ministry of Home Affairs as saying that liquor and betel shops will open in the Green Zone.
Liquor shops in the Red and Orange zones will not be exempted during a lockdown. But liquor and drink shops will be allowed to open in the Green Zone. Here people have to keep a distance of about 6 feet (2 yards) from each other. Also, no more than five people will be able to stand in a liquor store at one time.
