A teenager's craving for a McChicken burger has ended in bitter disappointment after it arrived with only the bun.
Auckland woman Tereza Luzki's 15-year-old son had decided to treat himself to the popular takeaway after New Zealand came out of level four Covid-19 lockdown this week.
But when the teen eagerly opened his Uber Eats-delivered bag, all he found in the burger box was the bun without any fillings, the family claims.
'It's bizarre, who would send a burger without the chicken? I could understand if they got the order wrong, but this one had nothing in it,' she told the NZ Herald.

An Auckland teenager was left stunned this week when his McChicken burger arrived to his home completely empty
'We never usually order McDonald's but because of the lockdown situation my son thought he'd treat himself. He ordered it through Uber Eats. I know it's not their fault as the bag was already sealed. When he opened the bag he said 'Hey mum! There's no burger inside. Just the buns'.
Unsatisfied, the boy went down to a local fish and chip shop to order a new chicken burger and chips while his mother vented her frustration.
The post in a community Facebook group caught the attention of the Fish and Chippery and they refused to let the boy pay, instead offering the meal for free.
Tereza said it was such a kind and lovely act, especially given the struggle of local businesses amid the coronavirus crisis.
'We went to pay and the owner said no, the child won't be without food for dinner and gave the order for free. They gave my son a chicken burger and chips and refused to take any payment.'
Tereza said she logded a complaint to McDonald's the same night, and received an apology the next day.
The Grey Lynn mum said the fast food giant told her they will look into the matter and respond within seven working days.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted McDonald's NZ for comment.
