New Delhi: The next time you pick up a Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bar from a store near you, don’t be surprised if you find the logo missing. What you will find in its place, instead, is a ‘Thank You’.

Mondelez India, which manufactures Cadbury products, has launched a limited-edition Cadbury Dairy Milk bars by replacing the brand logo with ‘Thank You’ in recognition of the “generous spirit” of the country’s spirit “unsung heroes” fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

The bars were launched Thursday. This is the first time that Cadbury Dairy Milk has changed its logo since the product hit the shelves over 70 years ago.

“These bespoke chocolate bars will spread the spirit of gratitude across the country to each and everyone who are tirelessly and generously continuing to work, to support us all during this unprecedented time,” Mondelez India said in a statement.

The company will also commit a part of the proceeds from the sale of this limited-edition bars towards health insurance polices of daily wage earners. This will be done via partnership with Nirmana, an NGO working with the unorganised sector.

New bars in eight languages

In the spirit of celebrating linguistic diversity, these Cadbury Dairy Milk ‘Thank You’ bars have been launched in eight different languages — English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

They are priced at Rs 40 for 50 gram and will be made available across all retail channels.

Anil Viswanathan, director, marketing (chocolates), Mondelez India, said, “…we understand the special role Cadbury Daily Milk plays in the lives of our consumers…This launch serves as a small tribute for their enormous efforts and only begins to express our collective thanks to these unsung heroes.”
