Bid to steal cash from ATM in Mohali

MOHALI: Taking advantage of the lockdown, some unidentified miscreants on Thursday morning entered an ATM booth in Derabassi here and tried stealing cash from the machine, the police said.
According to a police official, the miscreants tried to break the ATM to access cash, but due to the presence of some people in the vicinity, they had to leave their operation midway.
Assistant sub-inspector Mewa Singh, the investigating officer of the case, said, “In the absence of a formal complaint, no case has been registered as of now. But, we have started an investigation into the incident. We will take custody of the footage of CCTV installed inside the ATM booth and scan it to get some clues.”
