SHIMLA: Two more Covid-19 patients have been cured in Himachal Pradesh and now only 8 active cases have been left in the state out of total 40 cases detected so far.
In last one week, no new positive case of Covid-19 has been detected while nine positive patients have recovered and discharged from the hospitals. As the number of positive patients is going down, Himachal Pradesh is slowly inching towards becoming a corona-free state.
Patients recovered on Thursday include one from Jawali in Kangra district and other from Bhattiyat in Chamba district. Of the 40 people who had been found positive, 27 have been discharged after being found negative for the infection. In addition, four persons have gone for treatment outside the state and one person has died.
Of the total 8 active cases under treatment, four patients are from Una district, two patients are from Hamirpur district while one patient each is from Sirmaur and Chamba districts.
Himachal Pradesh has managed to contain the spread of coronavirus by timely identifying the contacts of positive persons and sealing the containment zones by restricting the movement of people.
DGP SR Mardi said that caution needs to be exercised. He said that people coming from outside should immediately inform the administration about their arrival as they will be asked to remain in quarantine and if someone fails to disclose his travel history, then strict action would be initiated.
“Some people are jumping quarantine which is not correct. One was found out of institutional quarantine in Parwanoo, we will take strict action against him,” he added.
