Share market update: PSU bank shares up; Bank of Baroda rises over 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with gains in Thursday's session.

Shares of Bank of Baroda (up 2.6 per cent), Indian Bank (up 1.94 per cent), Bank of India (up 1.88 per cent), Canara Bank (up 1.43 per cent), Punjab & Sind Bank (up 1.34 per cent), Union Bank of India (up 1.11 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (up 1.05 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.0 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (up 0.65 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (up 0.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.3 per cent up at 1332.7 around 02:24PM .

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 259.55 points at 9812.9 , while the BSE Sensex was up 857.48 points at 33577.64 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Federal Bank, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta , Motherson Sumi, BHEL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
