GREATER NOIDA: A 28-year-old
woman in
Dankaur's Parsaul village was quarantined on Wednesday after her in-laws allegedly left her at her parents’ house suspecting she had coronavirus.
After locals informed police about the arrival of a sick woman, a team of health officials and cops visited the spot and diagnosed her with flu-like symptoms.
Rajesh Kumar Singh, the DCP of zone 3 said the investigation revealed that the woman was married in Akbarpur village of
Bulandshahr. Her in-laws dropped her at her parents’ house in Dankaur around 4am because she was sick. “We informed the health department and she was subsequently taken to a hospital where doctors collected her sample for screening,” he said, adding that her mother, sister-in-law and four-year-old son have also been sent in quarantine wards at
Galgotia University as a preventive measure. Police said the woman’s in-laws probably took internal roads to cross the border and they may face criminal charges for violating the lockdown norms. “We are waiting for the test reports. An FIR will be registered if she tests positive. Ideally, they should have taken her to a hospital but they defied the advisory,” Singh added.
