Just a day after Irrfan left for his heavenly abode, his D-Day co-star and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor said his final goodbye in a Mumbai Hospital on Thursday. While the news of the latter's death came as a shock, soon after Irrfan's death, a scene from their 2013 film D-Day has gone viral on social media.

Directed by Nikkhil Advani, D-Day released in 2013. It starred Rishi Kapoor as a gangster based in Pakistan, while Irrfan played the role of an undercover Intelligence Officer Wali Khan who successfully captures him and brings him to India.
D-Day is one of the best films is the careers of both Irrfan and Rishi Kapoor. Both the actors received a lot of praise for their effortless and natural acting in the film.
While Irrfan and Rishi admired each other, the Slumdog Millionaire actor revealed, in an earlier interview, that he never thought he can be Rishi Kapoor. He said, "In an earlier interview, during the release of D-Day, Irrfan Khan had said, "My cousin is his ultimate fan, though I have watched all his movies. I never thought I had it in me to be a Rishi Kapoor. He is hot liquid. He has worked on cultivating his craft so well and he is one of those stars you never have enough of, even if he is doing the same thing, movie after movie. I think that’s what makes his second innings so spectacular. He doesn’t have to be a star anymore, so he is having a blast being an actor."

Irrfan died of complications due to colon infection in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on April 29. He was buried in Versova Kabristan in Mumbai, soon after his demise was announced.
Rishi Kapoor, on the other hand, died at 8.45am on Thursday. He was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai. The actor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and went to New York for treatment. In 2019, he returned with wife Neetu Singh and was spotted at various public events.
