Haryana police inspector dies in road accident in Pehowa, case registered

KURUKSHETRA: A Haryana police inspector identified as Ajay Mor, son of Arjuna awardee wrestler and former DIG Rajinder Singh Mor died while returning to Kurukshetra from his duty at Pehowa on Wednesday late night.
Ajay was presently posted at Kurukshetra district and he was on temporary duty at Pehowa, said the police officials.
Pehowa police station house officer (SHO), inspector Devender Kumar said, "After completing his duty at Pehowa, inspector Ajay Mor was on his way to Kurukshetra in his car. When he reached on the outskirts of Pehowa, his car met with an accident with an unknown vehicle during the night and Ajay’s car skidded off the road and got rammed into a tree."
"Ajay was rescued and rushed to the civil hospital, Pehowa, where the doctors declared him brought dead. His dead body has been handed over to the family after an autopsy and last rites have been conducted at Baroda village in Sonepat district", said SHO Pehowa.
A case against unknown has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Pehowa police station and investigation is being done, further said SHO Pehowa.
Kurukshetra superintendent of police (SP) Astha Modi said, "Inspector Ajay Kumar joined Haryana police as sub-inspector on December 21, 2004. He was posted as an inspector in the Kurukshetra district since October 15, 2018 and worked at different places. He remained security branch in-charge, Sadar Thanesar SHO and in-charge detective staff in Kurukshetra. Presently, he was posted with special staff in Ambala. Inspector Ajay was in his home district Kurukshetra for duty in connection with lockdown from Ambala. He was engaged in duty in the area of Pehowa police station and was returning after finishing their duties. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
