Coronavirus Pune: 93 new cases found in city

Pune: Officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation said that in all, 93 new cases of COVID-19 were found on Wednesday and two persons succumbed to the pandemic on Wednesday. In all, 27 positive patients were discharged from different hospitals after they tested negative for COVID-19 post-treatment.

The total four deaths in Pune division include three from Pune (Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune rural) and one in Solapur.

Divisional Commissioner Deepak Mhaisekar on Wednesday said that the number of COVID-19 positive patients in Pune division reached 1,702 and 79 patients are in serious condition.

In all, 139 new positive patients of COVID-19 were found in the division which included 115 in Pune, 6 in Satara, 16 in Solapur and one each in Sangli and Kolhapur.

He said that 264 persons have been cured of COVID-19 till date and have been discharged from respective hospitals.

In all, 95 persons have succumbed to the pandemic in Pune division which includes Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur and Kolhapur districts. The administration has tested 17,747 people, of which 1,702 have been found positive of COVID-19.

Officials of Pimpri Chinchwad said that in all, four new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in Pimpri Chinchwad and a 50-year-old woman succumbed to COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Officials of the State health department said that the State has reported 9,915 cases of COVID-19 till date and 32 deaths among COVID-19 patients were reported on Wednesday.

Similarly, 205 patients were discharged in the State, taking the total number of discharged patients to 1,593. Officials said that 597 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the State on Wednesday.

Out of the 32 deaths reported, 25 were men and seven women. Seventeen of them aged over 60 years, 15 were from the age group 40 to 59 years. 18 out of 32 patients (56 per cent) had high-risk co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and other diseases.

The death toll in COVID-19 patients has now gone up to 432 in the State. Out of 1,37,159 laboratory samples, 1,26,376 were negative, and 9,915 have been tested positive for COVID-19 till date.
