One of India's modern-day greats, Rohit Sharma is celebrating his birthday today (April 30).

The Mumbai Indians (MI) captain, who should have been leading his side in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is celebrating his day with his family due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

In the time away from the competitive action, the 'Hitman' got wishes from teammates on his 33rd birthday.

Test opener Mayank Agarwal wrote, "Throwback to this special moment with @ImRo45 as he guided me to my first test hundred. Happy Birthday, Rohit! Can't wait to recreate this! #HappyBirthdayRohit".

Bowler Yuzvendra Chahal took to Instagram and wrote, "On your birthday I take the opportunity to show everyone the actual secret behind your smile. Happy Birthday Rohitaaaaaa sharaammaaaa. #cutesmallcheeks".

Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri also took to social media and wrote, "Happy Birthday, Sharmaaaa! Have a great year ahead. Here's wishing you and your family health and happiness - God Bless @ImRo45 #HappyBirthdayRohit #HitmanDay #HappyBirthdayHitman".

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also posted a video of Rohit Sharma and his achievements. They wrote, "Happy Birthday, Hitman. On @ImRo45's special day, here is a recap of The Hitman show in whites. This one was in one of his favourite hunting grounds - Kolkata. #HappyBirthdayRohit."

Rohit 's opening partner Shikhar Dhawan also posted a sweet message for the Hitman. He wrote, "Happy birthday partner @ImRo45, hope you keep striking the ball out of the ground as clean as a shooting star".

As for Rohit, he made his India debut as early as 2007. His journey took a big turn when he was asked to open for India in 2013. Rohit holds the record for the highest individual score in ODIs. He achieved this feat in 2014 against Sri Lanka while smashing 264 runs.
