Maharashtra: Kalyan MP distributes food grain packets to 55000 auto rickshaw drivers

KALYAN: Looking at auto rickshaw drivers who have lost their daily earnings since was nationwide lockdown implemented last month, the Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde through his NGO on Thursday started distributing food grains packets to all 55000 auto rickshaw drivers in his constituency.
Shinde on Thursday through his NGO MP Shrikant Shinde Foundation started distributing food grains packets and it will take atleast 10 days to distribute all packets. Shinde has distributed food packets in all six assembly areas coming under his Lok Sabha area.
Kalyan Lok Sabha area comprises six assembly seats Kalyan (East), Kalyan (Rural), Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath and Mumbra.
The food grains packets include 4 kg rice, 2 kg wheat flour and 1 kg Dal.
Talking to TOI, Shinde said, "Due to lockdown I was getting complaint from many auto rickshaw drivers in my region that they have lost their savings and now they are not having money to buy essential items, that's why I decided to help them through my NGO".
Shinde said once he is done with distributing food grains packets to auto rickshaw drivers in his Lok Sabha area than he will also distribute food grains to rickshaw drivers in his neighbouring areas like Kalyan (West) and Titwala.
