Drones help Nagpur police maintain social distancing at Kalamna market

NAGPUR: City police's efforts to enforce and create awareness about social distancing at the crowded Kalamna vegetable and fruit market by deploying drones was a success this week.
Two drones, with public announcement systems, were developed by city police with the help of private firm. These drones were developed for stricter and effective surveillance, along with awareness, for containment and congested areas like markets.
DCP Neelotpal extolled the utility of the air surveillance through drones at Vinobha Bhave nagar containment areas in Yashodhara. "The team of Yashodharanagar police station conducted a special air surveillance drive at the congested containment areas of Vinobha Bhave nagar which was fruitful," he said.
Neelotpal also said that there were rush at certain pockets, like Tipu Sultan chowk in Yashodharanagar, in the evening when a community was breaking their fasts but it was monitored and controlled using drones.
