André Witschi appointed Chairman of Supervisory Board for Steigenberger Hotels AG

Deutsche Hospitality brings together five separate hotel brands under one roof. Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts is recognised for its 60 hotels housed in historic traditional buildings and lively city residences. It also offers health and beauty oases set at the very heart of nature. Deutsche Hospitality’s Supervisory Board and the Executive Board are delighted that the company has appointed a capable successor for the position.

 

 

André Witschi was a member of the company since 1999. From 2008 to 2010 Witschi was appointed as the CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG. His departure arrived after the sale of the company. However, he continued to hold various board memberships including Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lindner Hotels AG, Düsseldorf, Member of the Board of Directors of Scandic Hotels, Stockholm, and Member of the Board of Directors of Build S.A. (B&B Hotels), Paris.

 

 

Since 2011, he has worked as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, one of the world’s most renowned schools of hotel management. He is also a member of other foundations and boards of directors, including the Supervisory Boards of Romantik Hotels and Sausalito’s GmbH.

 

 

Back in 1991, Witschi joined Accor Hotels as Managing Director for Ibis Germany. He was also named the hotelier of the year around that time. Later, he took over the position of Vice President at Accor Hotels Europe in 1999. He also became a Member of the Board of ACCOR S.A. In 2003, he became Chairman of Accor Hotellerie Deutschland GmbH, the largest German hotel group at the time with 430 hotels. He also served as the CEO of Accor Germany until 2008.
