Coronavirus: Haryana waives rent, interest, tax due against government institutions

NEW DELHI: Haryana government on Wednesday announced some allowances for industries and commercial establishments to address the difficulties caused by the lockdwon enforced to control the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The state government in an order waived rent due against all government, panchayati raj institutions and urban local bodies buildings and shops. The order has also included start-ups in the start-up incubators of the information technology departments.
The order waived 50% of the simple interest and extension of the deferment period from current limit of April 30 to May 15 for all dues to government departments, boards, corporations and authorities.
The state government has also waived two months of Motor Vehicle Tax for Commercial Vehicles.
The state also extended the validity period of all the government contracts entered into by all the departments upto May 3.
All government contracts are going under the 'Force Majeure' clause except for contracts of medical infrastructure, drugs, pharma, medical devices, disaster management items, food and food products etc which are required to fight the pandemic.
