A Woolworths delivery driver has left a customer's perishable groceries on their porch on a sunny day without letting them know they were there.
The supermarket giant recently brought in changes to its delivery system in an effort to comply with coronavirus social distancing restrictions.
The new 'contactless' delivery policy means groceries are now left at the customer's door in re-usable bags rather than brought to the kitchen bench, however, the video shows at least one driver might be taking the policy too literally.
The video shows the driver dropping off the groceries at the customer's door before taking a picture and leaving - without knocking , ringing the bell, or even shouting to let them know to collect them.
Two adults and two children were inside the house at the time but were unaware the groceries had been dropped off, according to Yahoo Finance.
The homeowner then later that day noticed the delivery, which included perishable fridge and freezer items, sitting in the sun.
A Woolworths spokesperson said the incident was isolated and the supermarket's policy is that customers must be notified that their groceries have been delivered.
'We pride ourselves on customer service, whether it be in-store or when our home delivery drivers greet you at your door.
As part of our contactless delivery service, our drivers are trained to knock or ring the doorbell and wait for the customer to come to the door.
We apologise that wasn't the customer's experience on this occasion, and will follow it up with our delivery teams.
While we regret this one-off event, it's definitely not representative of the positive experience thousands of our home delivery customers have every week.'
While on orders more than $300 Woolworths offers free delivery, customers are paying for the service on smaller shops - $15 for orders under $100.
Both Woolworths and Coles have said sales have increased significantly in recent months because of panic-buying in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.
Woolworths financial results for the first three months of 2020 are expected to be revealed on Thursday.
