Pilgrims, Kota students called back, quarantined

Ludhiana: Travellers, including students, pilgrims and people struck outside district, will get themselves screened and tested for throat swab and will be isolated till the report of the result of throat swab comes.
Talking to TOI, Dr Rajesh Bagga, civil surgeon, Ludhiana, said, “Any outsider entering Ludhiana will get himself screened and tested for throat swab and would be isolated till the result of sample arrives. They will be sent back home and will be recommended home quarantine once the result of samples will be declared. If they will test negative, they will be recommended for home quarantine and if they test positive, then they will be shifted to the isolation ward of Covid-19 wing of the civil hospital.”
In recent days, as many as 56 pilgrims of Hazur Sahib, 26 students of Kota and 44 migrant labours from Rajasthan were brought back. They have already been screened at the flu corner of the civil hospital.
Bagga further added, “All these persons have been called back, which included migrant labourers, Kota students and pilgrims of Hazur Sahib. They have been quarantined at the Mother and Child Hospital, Vardhman, and samples collected. These will be sent to the labs for testing and till then these people will remain in isolation till the time their results arrive.”
All students and pilgrims were picked up by the health department from their places on Tuesday and were isolated at the Mother and Child Hospital, Vardhman.
Navraj Brar, joint commissioner, municipal corporation-cum-facility in-charge at Vardhman said, “We have received reports that 75 persons are admitted, including 26 students from Kota and pilgrims from Hazur Sahib. Their samples have been taken and we can adjust up to 100 people.”
Migrant labourers from Rajasthan too have been isolated at Radha Soami Satsang, Beas, centres in different areas of the city.
