Five-feet long croc rescued from Karjan pond

VADODARA: A five-feet long crocodile was rescued from Ganpatpura village in Karjan taluka on Tuesday. The reptile had ventured out of Vishwamitri River and crawled into a pond in the village a few days ago. Locals learnt about the reptile’s presence after it killed a goat and also injured a dog.
The villagers informed Wildlife SOS and Gujarat Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) volunteers who rushed to the spot on Monday. A trap was set up near the pond to capture the reptile. It was rescued on Tuesday and released in another waterbody.
