The Defense Minister reviewed the performance of DPSU and Ordnance Factories during the lockdown and their contribution to the war against COVID-19 and asked them to try to speed up their production. "The defense ministry has instructed them to prepare contingency plans to resume operations after the lockdown ends and speed up production," the defense ministry said in a release.

Rajnath Singh praised the DPSU for creating new products and supporting local administration in various forms in the war against the Coronavirus. Talking about Prime Minister Modi's plan to bring the economy on track after the lockdown, he said that DPSUs can play an important role in improving the economy by collaborating with private defense industries. The Defense Minister also praised the Department of Defense Production (DDP), Ministry of Defense, Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), and DPSU by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and financial assistance of Rs 77 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund by depositing one day's salary.
