MUMBAI: The complete shutdown in Mira Road and
Bhayandar will continue till May 3, the authorities announced on Tuesday. The areas have been shut down since April 20 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Vegetable, fruit and
grocery shops will be closed and home delivery of essential items will be allowed from 9am to 11pm; earlier it was till 5pm. In the new order on Tuesday evening, bakeries can remain open from 2am to 4am. They were earlier shut till Thursday.
Flour mills will remain open as per normal timing.
Milk shops can be open from 7am to 10am and medical stores can be open 24x7.
Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation ( MBMC) had announced a four-day shutdown of shops from April 20, which was extended to April
28.
Civic officials have now extended it to May 3.
The number of cases in
Mira-Bhayandar reached 152 on Tuesday, with seven new cases reported. Two deaths have been reported.
Last Friday, a 75-year-old Vasai man had tested positive.
