Anil Kapoor worked with Irrfan in films like Slumdog Millionaire, D-Day and Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets. On the Paan Singh Tomar actor's sudden demise on Wednesday, Anil Kapoor took to social media to express his grief.
The Ram Lakhan actor thanked Irrfan for taking care of his daughter, Sonam Kapoor, while working with her in Anees Bazmee's film Thank You. Anil Kapoor wrote, "Indescribably saddened to hear that we've lost Irrfan Khan. I'll always be thankful to him for taking care of Sonam when they worked together & for being her guiding light at the time. He was an inspiration for everyone, a remarkable actor, unmatched talent & a great human being (sic)."

Sonam Kapoor and Irrfan worked together in the 2011 film Thank You, which also starred Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty, Rimi Sen and Celina Jaitly, among others.
Sonam Kapoor also shared two photos of herself and Irrfan. She wrote, "Rest in peace @irrfan sir. You have no idea what your kindness and encouragement meant to me at my lowest. My condolences to your family and loved ones (sic)."
Irrfan died in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital, where he was being admitted to after being diagnosed of a colon infection. The late actor, who is survived by wife Sutapa and sons Babil and Ayan, was buried at Versaove Kabristan at 3pm on Wednesday.
